Running
Ray and I usually train in the winter/spring for races in the spring/summer. That training requires us to run 3x/week. But we're not consistant with it all year. Last year Ray was out with a bulging disc and now, just my luck, I have a bulging disc too. I was really just starting to enjoy the running too but, unfortunately, I have to quit it for a few months now.

I've really been remiss the past two years, and it's showing. I have tried to start back a couple of times, but haven't quite had the stamina or drive. So, I'm back to running on treadmill, and plan to take it outside in a couple of weeks. I do love to run, but I just haven't been well enough until of late. I want my high, and my thighs back!
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

I like to run, just don't always do as much as I would like. It really helps your climbing out, and once you get over the getting started crux, it isn't that bad. The first 5-10 minutes pretty much still sorta suck, but once I am past that, it is OK. My advice - get a good running mp3 player (iPod shuffle here), some angery music, and get to it. Treadmills are an OK way to start out, and I still run on them when the weather is crappy, or I am already at the gym, but running outside is much better training.

Trust me, I hate tredmills, but it's dark when I leave and dark when I get home and there are no sidewalks or streetlamps here. I've quit one job, so I should be back out there soon. I miss running.

I used to run. I hated it but thought it a necessary evil. Then last year my left knee started hurting pretty bad. I went to the doctor and found out that I have a bad patella. Eventually, I'll have to have knee replacement surgery. Since I'm only 33, I just quit running. I never really liked it anyway. Biking and swimming are much more fun!
