Online guide says double ropes needed for rap down, or a single 70m rope. Can you do a 2-pitch rap down with a 60m rope? It looks like a pretty straight up and down route, so I presume you can, but thought I'd check......

You can do two rappels with a single rope.

I think you need a 70 or two ropes to get down, or you can do two raps with a single 60. Fun route, goes easy as a single pitch as long as you are carefull about rope drag.

It has fixed anchors midway up, but I like doing it as one long pitch. You can also do one rap with a 60m rope if you don't mind downclimbing ~15 ft or so. I usually don't tie a knot in the end of the rope and just pull my rope through my belay device after I've found a comfortable stance on the lower face. You'll know whether you want to do this or not after climbing the route. You can get a good visual of how much rope you have left after rapping to the first set of anchors. Hope this helps.

Just make sure you don't get on Lost in Space by accident.

It's scary how many people I have had tell me they have done this. And what's funny is that most people that go looking for Lost in Space can't find it at all.

This happened to Dwayne and me about two years ago. It had been a couple of years since either one of us had done Party Time and we took the far right approach trail and came to Lost In Space first. Without thinking Dwayne gets on lead and starts up it. After struggling through the bottom he yells down asking where the first pitch anchors are. I yelled back that they should be there but he can't seem to find them. He makes an anchor and I second the lower part. When I get up to him we look around and finally we realize that we're on the wrong route. Instead of trying to pull the roof we bailed and then walked around the corner and climbed the route we'd planned to do. It made for a fun day.

The fixed anchors midway make for a nice 2 pitch rappell.
