I'm looking into coming down for the first week of March & averages for
KY show rather chilling temperatures... in your experience, is it warm enough in that time of year to camp out and climb?

temps haven't fallen in average ranges lately (warmer than usual) so you may get lucky.

I have spent a week in the red every march for the past three years, and it has always been warm enough to climb. I have had every thing from 38 for a high to 80 for a high.

It's completely unpredictable in March more than a week or so ahead of time. Too soon to ask...

Today- low 60s. Yesterday we got into the 70s, tomorrow- 40s.
Next week...who knows? We could either be in another ice age or global warming could be the hot topic of conversation.

If it’s cold you can still climb so long as the suns out. You have to climb vert/crimp routes instead of overhanging jugs/pockets. There's plenty to go around; just hope the sun shines and the temps reach 30. Chances are the weather will be much warmer than that. . .

Never really noticed that steep routes were colder than vertical ones.
If the sun hits it its good.

The deep pockets on some steep routes stay cold, even if the sun is on the wall.
March temps can very, but it is almost never a total shutout.
The weather today was outstanding!! Springtime, warm in a t-shirt temps with all of Sore Heal to ourselves - yep, pretty nice day to climb outside for sure.
