Well Iam leaving on Thursday to attend the Winter Market 2003 at the SLC Salt Palace. The RRGCC has an official booth!!! My main objective is to get our name out there in a more national venue, make some contacts, wrestle up some potential guests for our future events.

So if anyone is going to be out there make sure you drop by Booth #5621 and say HELLO!!!

Won't be out there, but good luck, Gretchen! That's great that you're doing that for the RRGCC-- make sure you fill us in on what happens with that.

Watch out - that's illegal in Utah!

But while in Utah, there's actually lots of fun stuff to do (legally or not). Skiing at Alta, snowboarding at Snowbird, mocking the crap 'resorts' around Park City. Ice, of course. If you ask around you can probably track down which crags are warm enough in the sun for some cragging or bouldering. Of course Moab, Zion and Vegas are only a few hours drive away.

If you do head up to Park City (it is cute), Zoom was good and reasonably cheap by Park City standards - get a side of the mac and cheese! There are a couple of good sushi places and a good fodue joint ("Melting Pot"?) in downtown SLC.

Even if you aren't much for gym climbing or bouldering (let alone the combination) check out The Front! It's a great little gym with really beautiful walls and great routesetting.

I've been to the show once, and it was a lot of fun. Be sure to ask around the gear booths on the last day to see if you can get deals on gear. Tom Frost's wife sold me a set of nuts for $40 (Tom wanted more, but when he walked away, she cut me a better deal!) You'll get to meet lots of famous and not-so-famous climbers. Watch out for tordanoes ;^)

And of course, if you have the opportunity, all sorts of things that are perfectly ordinary (and legal here in Illinois), magically become illegal 'sodomy' in Utah! Ohhhhh, thrilling!

Good luck with promoting the Red!

I would like is "yo quiero" Punta!

I am totally stoked to go to SLC. I am bringing my shoes 'cause the temps will be 50 plus so I am heading to Little Cottonwood for a bit of pebble wrestling!

HF don't worry I'll ake care of the Big H!

Since the temps and snow fall aren't that great right now, there have been a lot of avalanche activity so needless to say, NOT MY BAG!
