Hitting the Gyms

Hey all, I've had this idea for a bit and wanted to throw it out for some thoughts/critiques and concerns. My main concern was to not cannibalize our resources which is why I'm writing to all of you.
How likely do we think it would be to be able to get various climbing gyms to donate small sums of money? Originally I was going to canvass gyms in Ohio, KY, Illinois, Indiana, TN, NC, SC, FL... and a few others.
Basically states from where I feel like people have come to climb in the Red. I was going to hit up university facilities as well as private facillities.
The idea was to push the concept that outdoor/indoor climbing compliment eachother and push one another to exist. The idea was to also not ask each gym for a lot of money but 10-30 dollars.
Approach?: To do a letter and then a personal phone call (I have lots of minutes on my phone which are just going to waste.)
The other benefit to the gym would be a spot on the RRGCC website. Blake said it wouldn't be hard to put a box on the front page that could scroll the names of the gyms that have donated and then to have a link to another page that would have their location, contact information, websites, etc.
Maybe the more money they donated the larger font they could receive on the scroll?
Their name would stay on the RRGCC site for one year unless they donated for another year.
Thoughts?
Thanks.
