mooching off other locals

Post by kek-san »

Hi all,

I am fairly new to KY, been here in Lexington about 1yr. Managed to get out to Muir and a smatter of other places last year, but as there are now no local public climbing gyms I am seriously jonezing to train. The fingerboad just isn't cutting it.
Anyway I was hoping that there were some locals in Lexington, Richmond, or Berea who might have home gyms and more importantly would like to meet up and do a few problems. Toss me a PM if you might be willing to let me mooch, would be more than happy to provide tasty beverages and or dinner. Also just want to get to know some of the other locals.

Thanks,

Can't offer you a mooch deal but if you want to come to our next fundraiser, that could provide some training for you. We just stripped the walls and need another 2-3 weeks or so to set problems but, after that, we'll be opening it up every Wednesday for a month at least. It's a $15 donation but since a lot of gyms are $12 you could maybe justify it and you'll also be giving to a good cause. http://www.redriverclimbing.com/gym_fundraiser.php

Just a thought...

Keep us posted as to when the wall is ready, and I'll be there.

There's a tower at The Stadium behind Fayette Mall. FYI.
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

Don't know. I don't live in Lex. It was Stadium last time I was there.

When were you there last, Dipsi? Sadly, I don't think that place is open anymore-- I called and a message said they were closed.

If you are wanting gym climbing, you can go to the one at EKU in Richmond at the Fitness/Wellness Center. There is a climbing/bouldering wall downstairs and a TredWall upstairs.
