Red Wine

Post by overhung »

Doctor advised me to drink a little red wine every day for heart health. Hate wine, particularly red. Anyone know of a tasty, kool-aid tasting, red wine. To me, red wine, usually tastes like cough syrup. Any suggestions. Don't mind paying a little extra if I can force it down.

You might try going to a wine tasting, that would be the best way. If it all tastes bad to you, try it with different food combinations.

I don't know anything about wine, but a frined of mine is a seller and somolia, I'll call him this weekend and see what he says.

kool-aid tasting red wine?! blasphemy! anyway, what would your doc think about a white zinfadel. (or as i like to call it, white sin, it an abomination to wine but people still drink it.)

would that have what you need?
do you drink white wines at all?
a lot of people who start of drinking whites transition to red through the "red-red" zinfandel because of it's slightly high alcohol content which makes it a little sweeter.

wine can simply be an acquired taste, you may ocme to appreciate it.

fyi the wine shop in lexington, "wines on vine" has a free wine tasting every friday evening and i think on saturday too but i'd call them first to check on times.
I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

The key to wine tasting good is to drink it with food. I suggest getting a bottle of Rosemont Shiraz, a loaf of hot French bread, and some butter (or cheese...I love Creme d'Brie-original, not herb-and it comes in a triangular plastic container in the gourmet cheese section). Have a snack out of it. Red wine is also really good with dark chocolate.

Don't really drink wine at all. I prefer beer. The only wine I ever partly enjoyed was an expensive German white wine. Is it true that the more expensive wines taste better? Don't know if white wines have the same stuff that gives the heart benefit.

Yellow tail has some good stuff. I am not much of a wine person, but I do like the shiraz from them.

I'd try the old MD 20/20. I know that it has to come in a "red" flavor.
Screw you guys. I'm going bowling.
