PMRP Fundraising Idea

I already talked to Wes about this, and he seemed to think it was a good idea, but I just wanted to get a little feedback before going ahead with it.
I don't have my own rock gym like Ray and Michelle. What I do have though is the Johnson Center, which has a pretty decent climbing wall, and two guest passes a day to donate to the cause. I also have two friends of mine would be willing to donate their guest passes as well. So that means a total of 6 people, maybe 8 if I can convince 1 other person to help, could come and climb for the night, provided they made a small donation to the southern region fund. If you guys think this idea would fly, I'll go ahead and set up a trial date in the next couple weeks. Let me know what you think.

i go to the JC with my buddy Chris sometimes and it cost me $5 dollar everytime I go. so to clear things up it will be 5 dollars per session plus any donations you'd like to contribute.
i think it is a good idea because most people don;t have the luxury of a gym so might as well give it a whirl.

Thank Stewy I forgot to post that the Johnson Center charges a guest fee.

Someone should contact Mark Lattin and see if the fee can be waived for people donating. Wall employees could come to the front desk and escort donating patrons past the the turnstile.

The only thing about contacting Mark, is that it would mean involving all the bureaucratic crap at UK, who might very well nix the whole thing. Right now it's an under the table deal, just a couple of students letting some "friends" use their guest passes. I'm even weary of saying "donations required", because that would sound like I'm selling something. I was just going to say donations STRONGLY recommended (wink wink) instead.

Mark is actually aware of the issue and is currently helping us secure a room at UK for a fundraiser. If anything, how about if I drop off a donation jar there?

That would be great.
