Off-Widths and Mother In-Laws

Post by Steve »

My mother in-law bought me a Big Bro for Christmas. Is she trying to kill me?

My family used to buy me climbing gear for Christmas. I'd give them a list and they'd buy things on it. When I'd open the packages they'd say "I hope you like. It was on your list but we have absolutely no idea what it is or how it works. Is climbing really a good idea? Is it safe? Do you know what you're doing"

My Mother in Law was always saying "You're not still doing that climbing? Are you?"
she always made it sound like a bad habit or something. I miss her in spite of her patronizing.

Oh almost forgot. Which one did you get JB? If we can get enough of them together one day we could go lead Yuk at Long Wall. It wold take about 3 green ones and a couple blues I'm thinking.

Steve, I think your mother-in-law must love you a lot!

Sorry, Honey, gotta stick up for my kind! :P

Hey ynot 'm not near as handsome as that JB cat, but thanks for confusing us. I got the little green one.

I'm really sorta joking, she likes me well enough. Bought me a bunch of climbing gear for Christmas...guess it was a trade off since I let her bring that pet goat to Lexington when she was staying with us...but that is a story for another year.

She wouldn't buy Jill or me the Kilimanjaro book we wanted...don't think she supports us wanting to travel to Africa. Climbing off widths ok...another continent not so ok. A Merry Christmas none the less!

The green one is nice to have on a bunch of routes that you don't need to OW.(and the perfect size for Yuk)
Is the goat cute? It hasn't eaten Monfried I hope?
