We're gutting our bathroom and need someone to do the work. Anyone know someone in Lexington who's reliable, fast, and does good work?
Thanks,
Michelle

Does he have a strange bear claw like appendage protruding from his neck? He kep petting it.
We had one bathroom too. I did almost everything myself from demo, framing a pocket door, to wiring. I hired some one to do tile becuase I didn't wanna pee in a bucket for three weeks while learning to lay tile. Had a plumber plumb too, didn't want pee piling up under my house. It was a fun multi-month project where I learned several other 'jobs' I don't want to have do for a living (drywall). Biggest trouble I had was finding someone to do tilework for a small job. No one wants to mess with the small jobs anymore.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

The problem with tiling a small job like a bathroom is that its hard to make any money if it is done right. And charging enough for the work makes the customer give you a look like you are totally screwing them over. Every job I look at takes time whether its large or small. Either way you still have to typically visit the site, discuss options with the customer, measure, quote, and then hopefully get the job. Once you have the job it still requires 3 days to tile a tiny bathroom, a mid size kitchen might take 3+ full days. It might only require a total of 8 hrs (for a bathroom) once you are there and set-up but is spead over 3 days to allow for drying time. Transportation time and set-up really kill the small jobs since both are about the same large or small. And trying to coordinate 2-3 small jobs together rarely works. It is just way more profitable to do larger jobs.
