Climb 4 Life

Hi folks,

Just want to test the waters a bit. This past summer I had the great fortune of volunteering for HERA's Climb 4 Life, a fund raiser and community-building event for ovarian cancer research. I have been talking to Sean Patrick (main person in charge) recently about an event at the Red. Basically, I thought I would see who might be interested in volunteering at an event like this.

Also, give some feedback as well. If you think the Red is already too crazy a scene, what are your suggestions for another location. If you havn't read about this event, it's rather large, drawing in lots of outta towners. The SLC event saw people from B.C., Washington D.C., and New England. An age range of 10 to seventy-something. Lots of press, too.

Thoughts...

Suggestions...

Thanks!

You should probably talk to Jeff Kennedy at True North. He may already have some wheels spinning concerning this event.

My friend went to the one in SLC and climbs often in the Red when she's not down with a broken bone. Maybe I could connect you two for her advice?

BTW, this is a great idea because it's not something routinely tested.

It's true. Sean came to the Red last October and we discussed organizing a climb 4 life event in the East. A commitment was made not only to host this event in 2006 but for several years thereafter. HERA’s marketing team wanted a long term commitment. The 2006 event is scheduled for May 11-14, 2006. Detail planning will begin Jan 2, 2006. We needed some feedback from the marketing team before we solidified this date. Without a solid conformation on the date I was reluctant to make an announcement.
