A good read for those "starving themselves for the redpoint." Ladies, eat more!

P.S. This is a re-post because I thought it had been posted already.

my sister in-law can eat a whole ham in one sitting - she'd probably be strong climber but she'd break the belay rope. Do they make harnesses for 400 pounders?

I have heard of several top female climbers having problems with anorexia. I also know that many male climbers jones about their weight too. If you have read my posts in this forum before you know that I am a believer in supplementation. The Medcal Director for the nutritional company that I represent advises a number of top athletes on nutrition including our company's two sponsored marathon runners, Andrey Kuznetov (See

I was against it because I had learned from doctors/dieticians that getting nutrition in pure form was best. I started supplementing after a fatigue crash last winter from over doing it with the activities (I was deficient in Bs and on the line with Iron). I've had some phenomenal energy since, and my recent CBC showed perfect levels.

As much as you hang on this site I'd figure you'd have plenty of BS in your life.

Ideally we all would be doing our own cooking, getting fresh food locally, and eating a balanced diet. The pace of modern life does not always allow for that. The stress of modern life can also place additional demands on our bodies. The AMA has fairly recently reversed their position (as reflected in your statement about doctors/dieticians) to recommending supplementation. Two things that I use in smoothies that are "nutrition in a pure form" are spirulina and Green Phyto-Powerâ„¢ (basically a powder of organic cruciferous vegetables). If you can get over the green color the smoothies taste great and certainly give you a boost.
