Here's a list of all routes in the database which have a different concensus grade than the grade originally given:

By the way, a lot of the ridiculously skewed ratings are a result of one person's voting (your user ID is recorded in the database) so I will be removing all of his/her votes from the results and repost the page.

I just reviewed the list... an all I gotta say is people's opinion on this sight is the last thing you should be using to grade these routes.... I bet half the people who have graded them haven't even sent the route.
Table, original start 12c...come on!
Urban Voodo...13a give me a break!
And the list goes on.

Lest we all forget... climbing is a mostly meaningless pursuit that we do for fun.
I didn't say that I use people's opinions to grade routes. However, if I hear many people say that they think a route is sandbagged or soft then the opinions on this site will heavily weigh on my decision to change the rating in the hardcopy guide.Power2U wrote:I just reviewed the list... an all I gotta say is people's opinion on this sight is the last thing you should be using to grade these routes.... Your statement did make me think of a good enhancement though. I'll only allow people to rate a line if they have it on their spray list.

Surprisingly Bare Metal Teen wasnt mentioned which I always felt was a little stiff for 12a compared to the others of the same grade in the gorge.
All in all Scin, leave the ratings what the equiper rated. They usually aren't off by much if at all. And honestly due to the nature of the climbing in the gorge it is easy to "wire" a route making it seem much softer than an onsight burn.
Prime example, I sent Tuna Town as a "warm up" one day after having climbed it many times. However, that was far from normal. Hell now, I would be happy just to get to the chains! Fuck, I would be happy to sit at the base of the climb and wax nostalgic.
God I miss the gorge!!!!!
