Did the weather cooperate for my buddy Malcolm Daly's visit? Did anyone climb with him? What route's did you do?

wasn't there but heard the gang went to Fortress with some newbies in tow

Thanks Crankmas. OK, you guys, could someone give me a report? I really hope you showed Malcolm how wonderful climbing in The Red can be.

I spoke with him Monday night and he had spent the day at Fortress Wall and enjoyed himself. He asked me where I would climb if I wanted some routes from 5.6 to 5.10, so I sent them to Muir Valley, Bruise Bros. wall at Rebel Camp.
I could not climb with them, but they seemed pretty stoked about my descriptions.
If anyone has a better description of them climbing then they were actually there......

Sunday night the rain set in forcing us to look for a rather large overhung area. So Fortress worked well for Monday. Rick and Liz had invited us to Muir on Tuesday. It rained again Monday night, preventing easy access, so on Tuesday the gang headed to Torrent. On Wednesday Tonya Riggs and Malcolm jumped on Roadside Attraction and a couple of other routes before taking Malcolm to the airport. Tonya went on to Louisville for a presentation with Stephanie Ross and returned late Wednesday night. Sean Patrick arrived Wednesday at 1:30 and stayed until Thursday afternoon. On Thursday Tonya and an old friend of the climbing community climbed at Muir. Friday morning Tonya headed to the airport and took off to Boulder.

We had a great time. Kenny Parker and gang came up from the New and Monday night we had a chance to round table with him and Jean regarding access, climbing issues, organization structures, and what made climbing festivals successful. I was thrilled, this was the first time Matt and I (guide services), John Haight, Rick and Liz (property owners) and Bill (RRGCC) had an opportunity to meet as a group.

Larry Riddle (Economic Developer of Wolfe County) came to show support on Monday Night and met with Sean and I on Wednesday.

From Sunday night to Friday morning it was non stop climbing related issues. We’re all pretty exhausted, but proud of what was accomplished.

Thanks, Jeff. Fall is the best time for climbing there, but I was worried that you might get rained out completely.
