Good news for Iran, we may not have enough enlisted men available to invade! Yippee!

Didn't they decide a couple months ago that the new Iranian leader was among the kidnappers of the Americans many moons ago?
Iran is pretty damned bad. Saudi Arabia creeps me out, too. And don't even get me started on North Korea. There's some twisted shit going on there. I hear if you're at the top of the food chain, though, it can be a blast.
I've got a friend that's in Afghanistan. He says when they drive or walk through town the little kids grin and give em the thumbs up. What are those parents teaching their children? I guess mom and dad can badmouth the Yankee imperialists all they want. Talk's cheap and not nearly as delicious as candy bars.

You're assuming that the current adminstration would use such a 'fact' in the course of 'reasoning' about wether to invade. This administration have been a bunch of incompotent, short-sighted buffons. Right now they are a bunch of scared, incompotent, short-sighted buffons. What better distraction and election lever than a 'fresh' war? It would sure bump Tom Delay, Bill Frist, 'Scooter' Libby, Karl Rove, Michael Brown, the 2000th dead American soldier, the Bush Deficit, tax cuts for the rich while we cut foodstamps, global warming, cronies on the Supreme Court, etc, off the headlines.
It would be amazingly stupid to invade Iran. Then again, it was amazingly stupid to invade Iraq in the way that they did.
The really scary thing - it may be up to the Pentagon to stand up to the White House to prevent such a disaster.
As for your friends in Afghanistan - they should be on the front pages, not the miserable failure in Iraq. The truly international invasion and reconstruction of Afghanistan
could have been a real triumph by actually improving the lives of the Afghanis and making the west look good in the Middle East. But Bush's invasion of Iraq ruined all that and made the tough job those guys are doing even harder.
