Yonah Mountain Access

Post by T-Wall Tammy »

Those of you who come this far south to climb, please help out. There is a letter is ready to be sent to key representatives. If you live in the Southeast, or have at any time, please go to

http://www.coolclimbing.com/yonahaccess1.htm

read the info on that page. Then, click on the link at the bottom, "how you can help". There, you will find the document conveniently linked in 3 formats, as well as the names/addresses of the representatives to which the letter should be sent. Then, look at Mr. Crowder's main pages by clicking all the boxes at the bottom. Lots of cool pics!

Very cool. Thanks for the info.

I used to go to Mt. Yonah in the early 90's. Man, how the approach changed after it was gated! Yuck! I mean, hiking is no big deal but hiking up a steep gravel road for a long ways...there's nothing fun about that. What was it, like 40 minutes or something? And when a car drove by the dust was all out suffocating!

Yonah Mountain Access

Hi, Artsay, haven't been here in a while. Yes, it now takes about an hour for the swift and longer if you take a couple of rests.
I was wondering if I could get people to post whether or not they have sent letters. I know many of you don't go to Yonah when you come down, but I figured maybe a couple of folks might have sent letters/e-mails from here. We're trying to get some sort of count so we can know how many we have sent total so far.

I just forwarded the email on that site to those politicians with email addresses. I didn't snail mail any though.
