Have you heard?

On two occasions now I have heard non locals, by non local I mean people from out west who usually climb on limestone or granite, after grabbing one of our nicely natural holds, declare that it is a manufactured hold. I explain to them how our sandstone, unlike their limestone and granite, leaves a sandy mess when disturbed. I still get the feeling that they don't believe our pockets can be so user friendly (read Bill Ramsey's foreword to Ray's guide).
To satisfy the readers curiosity, the routes were Stay the Hand, (the far right pocket people usually use to start the crux) and Gung HO for which I don't recall which manufactured hold. If anyone else has heard such rantings please post the info here so we can compile a data base.

The eyebrow pockets on Happy Trails seem a little "comfortized". Amazing what a nut tool can do.

The only cleaning I did on Happy Trails was with a nylon brush. Those are some cool pockets. Finger locks in pockets. Cool!

I know man, I was just messing with you. It reminded me of Dough Belly....the line that had similiar pockets but were extremely comfortized by John! Happy Trails rocks though. Caught me off guard at 5.10b. I was pumping.

I think most of our cracks were created with a masonry saw in the 70s. But those pockets are natural!
