Ice Climbing

Does anyone know if there are any climbable ice formations close to Lexington, KY?

Not sure if they have formed yet, but Hwy 34 on the way to Danville is usually pretty good. Also, there is might be some pretty hardcore stuff down by the KY river, off of US 68 in Mercer County. Some stuff around Frankfort as well.

Would anyone want to go this weekend? I'd like to get in a couple of ice climbs down here before I go up north later this winter.

well i had given up on indiana ice, mainly because of work. i did go out and do a recon on some of the secret spots i know of , the stuff that was in was really short and all of the good stuff wasnt all the way down yet. it hasnt been that cold this last week so ive given up, well a buddy of mine called me and told me a formation that we had been looking at for a couple of years now was in. we had never seen it more than half way in before.needless to say we bagged the FA bobcat falls WI3+ 20-25ft of dead vertical and 10-12ft of slab. go out and check all of the refridgerater canyons you know of before the weekend ,it is going to warm up.
