on the way to the cliff:

"thanks for fingering my hole!" - Spragwa to me

at the cliff:

"I hope you die." - Spragwa, to Yasmeen as she started Riptide Ride

"you are like three clucking chickens on a stick." - unknown German climber to Spragwa, Yasmeen and me

at Miguel's:

"do you want me to break her knee caps?" - me, to [identity witheld] after he pointed out his ex-girlfriend to me
"YES!" - him, in reply to the above

"There's my future ex-wife." ~Some guy saying that about me today (I thought that was an odd way to perceive someone you just met.) :?

I often wonder if one of my future wives is being born when I drive past the Clark Co Hospital... so, of course I can relate to the comment

Heading back home after Rocktown this weekend we stopped by Krystal, which is a bit of a custom for me.

We're sitting at the table eating and someone behind the counter dropped a tray or something, big sound of glass shattering all over the floor and everyone in the restaurant looks up. I see this guy look up and smile a few tables over and with classic on the fly reflexes he says....

"Somebody broke a krystal."

"Mommy! Daddy! I'm awake!"

My 2 year old son after his first night camping from inside the tent as we were packing the car.

And as we were looking down into a small rocky gorge below the Virginia Creeper Trail by the same speaker: "It's so beautiful!"

Weber leading "Go West" last Sunday,

"I kicked my nut out! It'll be real painful if I fall on that one!"

I know it's a common thing to hear around trad climbers but the fact that he didn't know why I was laughing my ass off was hilarious! He was quite alarmed that his belayer was gasping for air from guffaw-ing so much.

We need to start a thread on things heard at the cliff while climbing with Jamen. My recent favs:

Did you have that baby by IVF or just by having sex? (his first words to a woman he'd never met before)

C'mon Nasty Norma!

Rays explanation on Shoe sizes:

Me to Ray: "What with shoe sizes, does size 8 equate to 8 inches?
Ray: "No"
Me: "What about European sizes?"
Ray: "Yeah they're in inches"
Me: "So you're saying my foots over 3 feet long"
Ray: "in Europe it is"
Me: :?
Ray's explanation: "Its b/c they're in a different time zone"
