Three words: No Bid Contract

Harry Shearer from LeShow: "You wanna see lootin'? We're going to see the success in Iraq replicated in the South..." Already Haliburton has a no bid contract to repair a naval base. A sitting Vice President profits from war and disaster. Kind of sad, I think.

Halliburton Gets Contract To Pry Gold Fillings From New Orleans Corpses' Teeth
September 14, 2005 | Issue 41•37
HOUSTON—On Tuesday, Halliburton received a $110 million no-bid government contract to pry the gold fillings from the mouths of deceased disaster victims in the New Orleans-Gulf Coast area. "We are proud to serve the government in this time of crisis by recovering valuable resources from the wreckage of this deadly storm," said David J. Lesar, Halliburton's president. "The gold we recover from the human rubble of Katrina can be used to make fighter-jet electronics, supercomputer chips, inflation-proof A-grade investments, and luxury yachting watches."

shut the fuck up..You know, nobody wants to hear your (edited for content) drivel. All you do is alienate people with this (edited for content). Look at it like this. The people who agree with you already agree. The ones who don't, don't. So all you are doing is pissing off potential belayers, ya dig!!! So save the rhetoric for political websites or for people who care. If you haven't noticed this is a climbing website.

ultra, many have said the same things about much that you have posted as well.
crankmas, if someone is a liberal does that make them anti-american?

I don't feel that being a liberal or conservative makes one unamerican, I just happen to have centrist views that I hope don't make me seem unamerican but if they do so be it.

"Oh no, YOU are a great American"
"oh, far be it from me to say that you are a GREAT AMERICAN!"
"No, no, you are a great American!"
I have to change the station fast or I get vomit all over the inside of my car.

I think that the terms "liberal" and "conservative" are dualistic.

meetVA, Look. This is the conclusion that I've come to. I'm neither. I'm not a conservative or a liberal. None of the (edited) that they talk about effects me. In fact if I could just get rid of everthing I own and go live in my van I would (Stacy wants me to, like pay bills and stuff first...whatever). If the economy went tits-up tomorrow, I would still be doing the same thing. Eating and climbing. In fact that's all I want to do. If it came down to it I would prefer climbing over eating. So all of these "policy debates" and rhetoric on either side actually has zero effect on my life. For me to discuss politics doesn't effect policies. It just pisses the person off who's standing in front of me.

I just don't believe that any individual is as isolated from the world around them as you seem to believe.
Christian: I agree. But it always seems to come down to those acusations in a conversation on issues. It has become like a blanket you can throw over your own head so you don't have to listen or think about what the other person is trying to say b/c well, if they are labelled then OBVIOUSLY you know everything you need to know about what that person believes.
