what an incredibly solid belay! you can tell he's there with the climber the whole way.. and he'll definitely keep him off the ground. definitely.

oh, and you guys are definitely too cool to double check each other. That would be stoopid.

Double checking is only for wussy fools!

Holy crap - as a guy, anorexia wasn't much of a risk, but my subconscious is connecting how well Matt climbs with the total lack of flesh on his body (both fat and muscle) and my subconscious is telling me to go into the bathroom and not only stick my finger down my throat to barf up the two pieces of toast I ate a while ago, but to reach down there whole-fist and yank out some of those freeloading, non-climbing related, high-density internal organs while I'm at it. What, you only really need one kidney and part of your liver, right?

You just wish that you could eat like he does and maintain such a manly physique.

Sandy those pics are great. I'm so glad that Matt and Paul stopped double checking each others gear long ago. That's sooo dumb.

it really is, though. it's like the jerk test on gear.. you either did it right or you didn't and you'll find out later one way or the other. we've been climbing long enough to know how to do our stuff right so why should i have to check again.. i hate it. and completely screws up my concentration when i'm starting a route and someone says, "wait! let me see your knot.." so what! let me send and then it won't matter..
