Hello, never been to the red but planning on heading up saturday morning sometime alone. I'm sure I'll get in after everyone who is climbing for the day has left miguel's (maybe not depending on how friday night went for them  ) so I'm looking for any suggestion on which crag would be the best to show up at in hopes of finding some folks to climb with. What about if its pouring down rain, would your suggestion change? I've heard the name roadside tossed around a bit, so might just end up doing that.

Hope to see you up there.

Peace,
Andy

Saturday is the big trail day, so lots of people will be down at Sore Heel. Otherwise, roadside, torrent, millitray, left flank and the motherload should have plenty of people. You can also stop by Red river outdoors to see if there are still people eating breakfast. What time do you think you will be getting there?

What sort of climbs are you interested in? What rate and do you lead? What sort of gear will you have? Depending upon what time you arrive, there are several folks from Louisville heading down who generally meet up around 8:00 at the Shell station there.

andy_reagan, come to trail day! meet up with everyone at rro at 9ish & you'll be an instant hit. tons of people to climb with, and free admission to the party later at marks.

well, I'm unfamiliar with the grading at the Red, having never been there but have been climbing 11s and 12s at the New for the past month or so.

I have a 60m rope, plenty of draws, and I do lead. I figure if I leave here (Asheville, NC) at 6:30 I'll get up to the Red at 11:30ish. Just in time for it to be nice and toasty!

I guess I'll figure it all out when I get up there.

Peace,
Andy
