The sad thing is, if you use a card anywhere, your info will end up on an internet connected computer at some point. So, even using your card a Miguels has the same potentional for ID theft as amazon.com.

The way I do it is I charge all internet purchases (and I make lots of them!) to just one card that I track almost every day to make sure there are no fraudulent charges. Wes is right, everyone's susceptible to id theft.

Back to the thread, we are pre-ordering multiple copies for family and one for each of us. Jared likes to highlight his guidebooks to death, plus he treats them as his bible, so I'm too scared to even touch them!

I got so far into debt with credit cards that now I only have one and it has a $300 limit. It feels almost unamerican but its the only way I can stay financially sober. My credit rating sucks so badly that I don't think anyone wants my ID.

What's with all the credit card worries?
When I ordered I just chose to pay by check/money order, print out the page, and will send in my check when it gets a little closer to being released.

I hate to keep derailing this thread, so here's my LAST bit of advice for those who are worried about ID theft, check your credit report on an annual basis to make sure everything is correct. You can do that now for free:

annual credit report site wrote:This central site allows you to request a free credit file disclosure, commonly called a credit report, once every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.
