Well, I went tough times and had to sell my trad rack, but after the 1st of the year I am going to buying another passive rack only this time. I was just thinking about what size's of nuts and crap Ill be getting. What do you all think are the best sizes for a general purpose rack "if their is such a thing".

I was thinking maby a set of nuts and rock stoppers and 3 to 4 more of the middle sized ones, also I am going to get a set of micro nuts. Ill be getting alot more to go on the rack but right now I just trying to decided what sizes I should get.

My last rack consisted of 4 different sets of stoppers with extrea 1.5's up, 2 sets of nuts and about 3 1/2 sets of cams and some mixed goodies.

Get the first 4 sizes of tricams.they rule where nothing else works

tri-cams are a vital part of my red trad rack
i guess they are quasi active pieces but they work oh so well

does anyone ever use them in passive mode? i never have.

Yeah, from time to time I have used them in passive mode. When you run out of nuts or hexes those t-cams will work as a chock real nice like.

Sometimes you feel like a nut ,sometimes you use a tcam.I have used them both ways.you have 2 placement options.

what sort of situations would one prefer a tricam in a passive postion rather than a nut? or do you only really use them that way when you don't have enough nuts of the right size?

The angle is different for a nut.The tcam works where the top of a nut would be flopping around . sort of like this \/ Tcam |/ nut
