hey, i'm a kentucky boy learning trad out here in Lumpy where i work for the summer. I'm starting to build a rack. I allready have 4-13 BD stoppers and #1 & 2 camalots. with my next pay check i'm planning to get a #3 camalot and either Aliens or the Metolious TCU pack. if i got aliens I would spend the equivilent of the TCU's. in the red, what would be the best to have. and it would be nice to get an explination as well as an answer. thanks

i like the aliens for their weight, flexibility, and range.. but i think having both is a good idea (something to keep in mind down the road). i'm just not as big a fan of the metolius as i am of the aliens. explaination.. i just don't like 'em as much..

Theres no trad in the red. And no boulders. Only bring sport draws, preferably new shiny ones with wire gates. The lighter the better. Leave them on your project and post on here where it is.

Then buy more draws.

It's all in what you get used to. Most prefer the small Aliens for various reasons including wieght, flexibility in horizontal placement, and a long cable. I have the BD's and TCU's and will eventually get the small Aliens. The TCU's seem to fit into irregular cracks better then the 4-cam units. I rarely use the 2 largest TCU's. If cost is a consideration the TCU's go on sale once in a while. Good luck!

Stay in Colorado, there is an alarming absence of humidity there.
