Bone Spurs

Post by Lucinda »

Anyone get these on your finger joints? I am getting a crop on the end joints of two fingers, both right and left hands. Doesn't hurt much when I move them but starting to get aggrevated after I climb. Wondering if they are occuring from climbing or just getting old.. Know someone who got them on his toes from practicing Aikedo for years, lots of wear and tear on the feet and had to get them ground off.....ouch!

Well, I'm not sure what you mean by end joints, but I know heel spurs are caused by the tendon trying to pull away from the bone. The bone grows a little bit so the extra tension on the tendon is eased and the pain eventually goes away, but it hurts like crazy until then. I don't know if that helps, but it's all I've got.

Send a pm to T bone. He has extra bones growing in his fingers from years of climbing. Recently he went to a hand specialist and they gave him a shot of coritsone that reduced the swelling. Sounds like it's all better now. It definitely hasn't slowed him down any.

I've been reading up and it may be bone spurs due to ostioarthritis in the end joints of my fingers or something called ganglian cysts, both of which can can be related to tendon injuries.....makes sense. As for comparing bumps with T Bone, he has it all over me on intensity of climbing. Doesn't hurt enough yet to do much other than wonder what kind of knarled hands I may end up with

I actually got the cortisone for "trigger finger" or swelling of the sheath that covers the tendons at the base of my ring finger. The enlarged bones are in my hands "sesmoid bones " which everyone has. You should just see a hand specialist. The cortisone shot hurt like hell!.

You might want to check out a web site. www.braggs.com .
In his books he talks about using distilled water and taking iodine tabs. He says that some of the build up in our joints comes from acid crystals. Check it out. He got a lot of good tips on health. He started the first health food store in the U.S. Died at 97 body surfing. Hope this helps.

Oh Yeah forgot! I play a lot of guitar for about 43 years. Finger picking and got a deposit on my left thumb and have been doing distilled water and iodine and taking apple cider vinegar. The deposit is almost totally gone.

Oh Yeah II!, If you happen to be taking blue-green algae , I'd stop, I think this stuff collects foreign matter and can cause joint pain from extended use.
