so here's the story:

today whitney and i went to the motherlode. on my third run, i i blew the forth clip, pulled her up, and decked, breaking my right arm. whitney was great about it and really helped out. on the hike out, though, i sprained my ankle and, trying to stop my fall, sprained my left wrist, too. then we got back to the car.. where we realized my car had stuff stolen from it. from the rocketbox: sleeping bag, stove, rope, trad draws, and headlamp. from my glove compartment: cell phone, converter, usb key, and other stuff i'm sure. also gone are my work shoes, cd's, and change from my change box thingy. on the drive back, my car overheated and, finally, died, locked up. the tow, even with aaa, was 247.21. that's when i gave home a call to let them know what happened. turns out, my mom got into an accident this morning and is hospitalized. they tried to call me but.. cell phone.. she's stable but she's going to have to be there for a little while. after getting myself to the hospital, i came back home here to find a tree had fallen on my room from the storm that passed through. so.. checking the internet and my email to see what i can do, i get an email from one of my best friends only to read she's disowning me.. no, not my other best friend who disowned me, a second one. that brings me to here and now..

ok.. really. none of that happened.. well.. almost none: my car did have stuff stolen from it, all the stuff i listed. sucks.. but it could be worse.. right? all the stuff is replaceable and, yes, it'll cost quite a bit and, yes, i was just about to switch car insurance.. but all in all.. they're just things.

Damn you Paul! I had tears streaking down my cheeks!

Sorry about the breakin, though. I have to ask, did it really happen at the lode?

yeah, it was really at the lode.. i guess i have to blame myself to a decent extent.. but i really figured with it being a weekend day (figuring oil trucks or workers would be around) that we should be alright.. and we weren't long, no more than three, maybe four hours.

in all seriousness, i'm thinking about going down this weekend and maybe taking one day to run patrols on a bike and take donations.. maybe it'd work.. maybe not. it seems like a lot of break-ins in a short period of time.. they might be done.. but that's what i thought this morning..

I figured you were bullshittin us after you broke your arm, sprained your ankle then your wrist...scrolled down to see Karla's post. That was just wrong Paul. :(
I was really sad for a couple seconds. Sucks about your stuff though.

What's up with all these breakins? It's out of control. Is it like this every summer?

See!! You should thank me for always forcing you to carry all your stuff to the crag in a pack with no hip-belt! You own me big time, Paul! Seeing as how it's always my idea that you carry all your stuff to the crag in a pack with no hip-belt!

That really does suck, though, buddy. :( Wanna split a bagel? At least you still have plenty of those...

they took those, too!! ok.. no.. no they didn't ;) thankfully i did leave my full rack back at home. and i guess this give me a new reason to get new slings all with positrons. they were kind enough to leave me enough change to get a coffee refill at the shell station, though.

seriously, though, would people be up for giving donations for me to ride around the southern region to the different parking lots? do people think this would help or no?
