Been pondering Enoch's plight and just curious as to who has life insurance and who climbs without it.

I have no life insurance. But I only have two puppies to worry about, and they are so cute and well behaved that there would be a waiting list to take care of them.

I have several life policies but most life policies exclude coverage for death from rock climbing accidents. You can buy riders for such incidents but they are expensive.

yes, I do. My wife actually carries a big policy on me due to work related dangers. She has slowly upped it over the years as she heard more of what I do daily.
---but for the sake of clarity: It is not because I climb recreationally but that I climb to make a living.

My work provides a policy. That's the only one I have.

I wonder what most work policies will cover...my TriHealth policy probably doesn't cover shit though...

I have an individually purchased policy. After my father died suddenly at a young age, I learned just how important it is to carry insurance. Those fancy earth boxes are more expensive than a complete trad rack.

Most (if not all) bank accounts and credit cards offer you a life insurance policy. I think it's required.
Usually they give like 1-2000 for free, with options for more. Check your bank / cc company to see if you're covered.

I think I might have one through work, it probably doesn't cover being killed while climbing.
