Weekend Reports Anyone?

Post by Artsay »

Saturday we started off the day at Torrent and did a few lines including a sweet line called Livin' in the UK. This route is worth checking out (approach from the Via Ferrata side of Torrent). Also to mention is that there are a couple of pretty cool easy sport lines for those looking (5.7-5.9 range). We finished up at the Beer Trailer and I'm in love with Morning Wood and can't wait to get back on it!

Sunday we went to the Gallery and had the whole cliff to ourselves. My favorite line of the day was Random Precision, a stellar 11b slab with neat moves and a sweet finish.

Saturday, we put up a new mixed route (I think Jared called it Primordial Dissonance), then scouted for a place to hold the bolting clinic. We also decided to get out of MV before the storm and spent the rest of the evening hanging out at Miguels.

Sunday was spent bolting and scrubbing a 100 ft route (I'm still not done!) while Jared started bolting another line a few hundred yards away (he's still not done either!). I can barely move a single muscle this morning......

Friday afternoon, watched Diggum flash Creature Feature and lead overlord. Very cool.

Saturday, did Bob's cool slab line at the playground, sent Citizen's Arete (.11b my ass) and flashed Far From God (first .12 flash). Meadows sent Girls Gone Wild, but no flashing at the top, as per FA request...

Sunday - worked.

But, overall, a most outstanding weekend. One of the best ones I have had.

I got a bit of soft catch training & struggled up some of the routes that the others were sending. Good times.

And of course...the ever so sexy Sunshine brightened my day by climbing topless.

Holy shit, I can't stress how cool Random Precision at The Gallery is. My god, holy shit. If there were only more routes like that in the Red. Damn. Shit. It is good.

I need to check that out. It was wet when I was there. Did you check out Gold Rush? That thing is great as well. Just when you think it is over, POW hard crimps guarding the chains.

SCIN, you lucky dog!

Sunday I finally sent a project on my land in Menifee Co.(sorry Tackett, I couldn't wait any longer!) and FA'ed a cool 3 roofed trad route, along with several more pitches and good friends. Cool.
