i was cringing the whole time.. and i'm usually pretty good with that stuff. climbing with women has taught me to always keep tampons handy. this story proves that women really did get the short end of the stick (sorry, i can't help myself sometimes)

it can be quite barbaric how "modern medicine" treats the act of childbirth.
one friend of mine was told she couldn't have food or anything other than ice shavings during labor, not for any medical reason but more so that if the childbirth is long the doc wouldn't have to deal with any "messes". i don't know about you but if i'm working hard for say, 12+ hours, i need a little food to keep me going.

I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

story from a guy at work:
his wife was in labor for a while and she was pushing really hard. at one point, she pushed really hard and felt something crest. "is that the head?" she asked the doctor.
"no, but you just have birth to a beautiful pair of hemroids."

sometimes it's better that our weaker sex stay in the dark.
Sorry, finals are starting to get to me. (That one was Monday.) I'll try to keep it under control. I'm heading down this weekend when they're over but the partner situation is still a little dicey.
Ticking is gym climbing outdoors.
i was in active labor for 26 hours. in the hospital for 3 days before that. they didn't allow me any food the entire time. only liquids & ice chips during active labor. needless to say, i had my husband sneaking in food under his jacket.

Just for the record, everything else was hurting so much (pre-Lamaze) that I didn't feel the episiotomy.
Soooooooo, Paul add a broken tailbone x3 to your mix of joys of childbirth.
Truly it is all worth it!

What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.
