Military Partial Closure?

Hello to the vast world of gravity fighters,

I am producing a mild wondering on the subject of Military Wall and the partial closure of Revival, Thirsting, etc. Has anyone gotten any updated info as to when we will regain access to those routes?

My heart skips a beat each time I see Thursting and Revival. I feel like I am on the other side of a prison cell looking out when I see that fence and those plum lines just calling my name.

Just a mild wondering,
Tony

piggy you dont understand tonys history with those routes, no one will. Tony has been out of the loop for probably the last 3 years or so, untill I got him out last fall and he saw purgatory. imagine not climbing for the last 3 years thinking of a project that you have tried time and time agian. Then it is closed and you stop climbing soon after. This is what happened with Tony with revival. I know he longs to get back on it, and give it some good burns when he gets back in shape and it is opened back up. Yes he knows there are probably 500 or so new routes for him to get on and try, but there is still that longing. you know what I am talking about Piggy.

Does anyone know what the current state of closure at Military is? The guide has "Blade Runner" thru "Rad Boy Go" closed but in the notes for "Subatomic Fingerlock" it mentions that it and Right Turret are closed as well. Does anyone know what the full extent is? Are "Government Cheese" and "Left Turret" closed as well? Also how popular is the right side of Military, will it likely be less busy than the right on most weekends?

Right Turret and Subatomic Fingerlock are currently closed. The routes to the right barely get any traffic, and they're awesome. I'd recommend checking them out this weekend rather than taking a number in the line for the 12s.

From the Daniel Boone National Forest website:
Rockclimbing and rappelling are permitted EXCEPT in areas posted as closed.
Trying to bend the rules would just jeopardize the considerable amount of work that both climbers and the Forest Service have undertaken towards the goal of eventually reopening most of the closed area. Shannon & I met with the Stanton District Ranger, Joy Malone, a couple weeks ago and Ms. Malone indicated that the Forest Service should have engineering plans for the proposed hardening of the archaeological site, etc. completed and ready to go out for comment by Fall. Please respect all route closures and temporary fenced areas. Military Wall Project information is available at: http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/boone/planning/ ... tary.shtml
