When I ran an errand near the Fayette Mall/Target area tonight in Lexington, I saw a couple of people climbing/bouldering on an expansion joint in the retaining wall just below Target on Reynolds Rd. The wall is right next to the sidewalk and has some sort of fake masonry block panels. I'm not sure whether this makes me really sad that we don't have a gym or happy that some people came up with a novel place to climb. A little of both I guess.
Either way, we really need a gym here.

That stuff looks climbable, wonder who long their session lasted seeing its such a busy intersection.
Best urban handcrack in Lex is on the Samaritan parking garage. You can rig a TR off the top rail and jam until your hearts content. Pick the side that faces the back of Keenland and do it at night. Ahhh beer...ahhh college...never got back to try and lead the thing.

I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.
Continually check weatherchannel.com to see if the weather will be good for weekend climbing at the gorge....or watch crap on TV like the trainwreck new season of the Bachelor.longlegsrule wrote:what do you guys do during the week since you don't have a gym to climb in anymore?
I should have named this thread "Roadside Attraction".

It looks like there is some decent vertical traverse type routes at one of the parking structures on UK's campus. Across from the West'ish side of the Young Library. I've always thought that the back wall of the fountain at either Triangle Park or Thoroughbred Park would be fun.
Screw you guys. I'm going bowling.
