So, I am setting in Red River Outdoors enjoying the internet from my powerbook. It is via Satalite, and pretty quick. The store and coffee shop aren't open just yet, but once they are, it will be a pretty damn cool place.
So, if you are going to be in the red in a couple weeks, you can bring your laptop, and spray before all your friends. And they have three pretty nice PC that you can use (for a fee) so, if you are laptopless, you can still be connected.

Hell yeah! That's awesome. I'm psyched that Matt and Amy are setting up like that! No more trapsing into stanton to use the library computers. Climbers have their own access now. Saweet.
I cannot wait to swing into slade, pick up a cup of coffee and an egg and cheese bagel and head to the crag. This is a positive asset for sure 8)

In the fall of 2003 I suggested to Miguel that he get a wifi protal and charge some minimal fee based on the honor system like the camping. He didn't think there was enough interest. I think there would be a lot of interest.
I had my PowerBook with me at the time. I like having my laptop with me, as I like to write in the evenings and of cource if there is a wifi connection I will connect. I have been to the Red a handfull of times since, however, that first time was the last time I brought my laptop. Not because ther was no wifi, but, because I was/am concerned about it getting ripped off. I didnt/don't feel comfortable leaving it at Miguels. I didn't/don't feel comfortable leaving it in my car (I did this a few times and thught about it the whole time at the craig). I even packed my laptop to the craig a few times. No more. So, I do without at the Red.
What do other climbers do with ther laptops while at the Red? I realize this is a delicate to answer on this public forum. If any of you have any constructive input on this issue and you don't want to be public about it please PM or email me me. Be aware of PM and email security limits.

Ray and I are computer junkies. Everything in our life practically revolves around computers. Computers are an awesome resource for checking weather, using the online guidebook, hooking up with friends, etc. for someone on an extended road trip at the RRG.
Buster - Yea, it's Matt and Amy's place. I'm so psyched for 'em too. They're place is going to kick major ass!

The wi-fi isn't a cancer causing invasive service. Don't like it? Don't pay for it, don't use it. I on the other hand will.
All y'all haters can sukit. There's tons of places in the Red to not have the intraweb so if you don't like it don't stop by RRO. Plenty of kids will.

Does this mean that Red River Outdoors will be open to the public in a couple of weeks? I'll be looking forward to it! I'm tired of the runny eggs at the Lodge.

Whoa, Charlie! Transy called - they want that B.A. in English returned because of that split infinitive.
I'm sure I'll be one paying for internet service, but it's nice not to lug around a laptop. I do it all friggen week!
