hill to the lode

i was wondering if anyone could give me the status of the hill down to the lode.. i hear it's kind of bad right now.. too bad to take an outback down and back? thanks

There is the back way, if the hill is still too bad.

Go down the hill, then back out the solar side if you don't think you can get back up the hill. Or just park at the top of the hill and walk down.

well i'm hoping to take the shortest way possible since i have about 7 hours of driving after that. so the back way is kind of out for me..

It really isn't that much longer. Maybe ten minutes at most.

really? hmm.. are the streams high? i was alright last fall when they seemed pretty damn high..

They didn't seem to bad when I was at solar last weekend, but we have had a little bit of rain since then. I used to go the fixer way to the driveby/areana most of the time anyway, because the hill was in such bad shape.

Yes, any update would be greatly appreciated. We are heading there next weekend for a week and aren't sure which car to bring. Neither car is 4 x 4 but one at least has better clearance. Thanks.

It is never too bad for an Outback! You might be very surprised by how many steep muddy hills, long logging roads, rugged streambeds, and rocky rutted jeep trails those cars can handle.
