Does anyone know where or how I could get an estimate of the number of climbers per year who visit the Red?

There is somebody doing a study about climber impacts and such. He might have some relevant information. I think his name is Chris Carr. Captain Static would know for sure.

SCIN, I haven't found anything yet but wasn't there a study being done about how much money climbers contributed to KY tourism? Might not that person have the number you are looking for?

SCIN is just wondering how many tourists he can pick off without being noticed.

The guy you are looking for is Will Hobbs. Back in '01 he was conducting research on climber tourism in Slade; how much money climbers brought into the area. He use to run the climbing section of the KY Tourism website (don't know the link offhand) when he lived in Bowling Green. Now, he teaches at IU. I'm sure you could find him via the
www.indiana.edu website, I think he might teach a climbing and/or ropes course class.
