Thanks dipsi, do you have a degree in speech pathology? certainly seems like it would be a rewarding career-pretty sure I'm gonna bite on the ball thingy thanks for the insight

I do, and it is very rewarding.

Reverse crunches are great with the big ball. Also a great way to align your spine. Snap, crackle, pop!

The ball is my friend. It currently serves as my desk chair. You can do a ton of exercises on them too.

Yoga/exercise/swiss, etc. They come in 55, 65, and 75 cm.

Yoga, Pilates, rehab. The large exercise balls are utilized for many different modalities. OTs use them for sensory intergration with peds, PTs and OTs use them for various balance and coordination tasks, and we use them at the gym for ab and leg work. Uh, if you were asking me? :?

I agree with sirtoots. I got one last week to use as a computer chair. Now I not only spend less time at the computer, but I'm not hunched over with my feet on the desk. I can even get a bit of use out of my core muscles just by sitting, too.

On a related note, I got some reliable information last week about ways in increase the number of calories you burn for anyone trying to lose a bit of weight. I can post details if people like, but it boils down to just staying active. Things like parking at the back of the parking lot, not using the remote control as much, stand while you're on the phone, don't use drivethrough, etc. It was a list of about 20 things that take virtually no effort and at the end of the month you will have burned an additional 10,000 calories by doing it! That's just shy of 2.5 lbs.
