Cruisin' for a Bruisin'

Post by Zspider »

The description says a perplexing bulge. Does the picture of Jared on the entry page show him on the bulge? Can one still flash the route after looking at the picture?

I think Jared's on the start of the route in the picture. The bulge is near the top. If you want a little bit of beta on the bulge, PM me, that way I won't ruin it for others. Sure you can still flash it-- a flash implies knowledge of beta.

Yup, Yaz was right. That picture is near the beginning of the route. The bulge is just past the middle of the route at the 4th or 5th bolt. It may feel easier or harder depending which way you go: left, middle, or to the right. Give it a go... There are also some hidden holds along the way. The bulge was interesting and I couldn't decide which way to go so I climbed it three different times doing it three different ways and I tried to bolt it in such a way that you could safely do any method. Have fun.

There is a trad route at Muscel Beach called Cruising For a Bruising. Why the duplicity?
