The spray is getting out of control

It seems like an increasingly popular trend to do other peoples' spraying for them on this site. I was just wondering why people felt the need?

cause its a climbing site and talking about walking the dog would get boring.

(playing off your profile picture) if your friend recently scored the winning goal in a local competition, and if this friend were quite modest about their accomplishments and abilities, and if you knew they were positive reinforcement helped them personally and in their sport, would you let other people who know that person know about their last minute score? would you keep it quiet and not have them get some joy or pats on the back? do you think that hearing about other people climbing hard at or above their limits encourages other and gives them confidence to do the same?

i doubt brett favre would have personally began a campaign to adverstise how he overcame his battle with drugs and pain or how great of a quaterback he is. but having other people tell his story gives other people the confidence and courage to overcome their own personal battles, not to mention that i'm sure it gives him confidence and some sense of purpose (meaning that he's both helping people as well as doing his job well).

and how is it getting "out of control"? is it detrimental in some way? is it pulling you off the rock, increasing your personal gravity?

and some of us weren't there the day they did it and would like to know...and what climber talks about themselves?

I, personally, love to hear about others accomplishments. I've never felt threatened by it. It's just cool climbing talk.

Yea, good job, Paul!
And Morgain (Spragwa) sent There Goes the Neighborhood a few weeks ago, her hardest send yet.

I love hearing this stuff. :)

Hell yeah! TGTN is an awsome route! Good work Morgain! I love those 100 ft long crimp, crimp, crimp, crimp routes. Nice fun crux too.

Sprag is the "bomb diggity"! I'm impressed with that send - I hated that route.
