When you're on the road and you need a place to lay your weary head where are some of the best places to crash near climbing areas. Post your beta here. Pros, cons, and why to hotel/motel rooms others might wanna use or avoid.

...Gadsden
If you're slappin' slopers at HP 40 and don't want to tent out head back toward Gadsden and the Best Western I-59 Exit 181 where you can try and get the bro deal. The folks at HP were kind enough to tell us the front desk folks at the Best Western will give you a deal if you tell them that you are bouldering at Horse Pens. We got a great room (suit) for cheap and they had a nice breakfast in the mornings. Avoid on race weekends, Talladega is only 20 miles away and room prices jump to 150 to 175 $ when NACAR rolls into town.

We stay at the Rodeway Inn in Gadsden when we go to HP40 (though we may just check at your place, Steve!). It's only $30 (with coupon from rest area) and you can stay with your dog for an additional $8. No fancy breakfast but the rooms are very nice and clean.

In Chattanooga, we stay at the Hampton Inn (the one on Cummings Highway). This hotel ROCKS. The rooms are way nice with soft sheets, fluffy pillows, thick towels, and a free breakfast that can't be beat (hard boiled eggs, bisquits & gravy, bagels, fresh pastries, Mmmm....). I think it was $55 a night but we eat a great breakfast and make our lunch so I think it's a great deal.

Avoid the Days Inn in Morganton if you are climbing at Table Rock.

The Pixie Inn is killer when you are at G'Mom. Pretty cheap, and 5 minutes from the boulders.

Hotels are great for winter road trip but at HP40 I think it's cool to stay at the boulders. Where else(in the East) can you crawl out of your sleeping bag, walk 20 feet and be at a three star boulder problem. Plus those night sessions after dinner and few beers are great too.
