... is my idol. I just read the article in last month's Climbing about her free ascent of Free Rider in a day. Amazing story. Anyone who complains that they're too short to do a move should read about the way she overcame that problem during the Huber Pitch... unreal. That and the fact that the Monster Offwidths look ridiculous. That was definitely my favorite climbing magazine article ever.

No doubt about it, I am in awe of Steph Davis ever since I first read the article. I am always inspired by exceptional people who put forth amazing efforts. The amount of work and dedication to achieve on that level humbles even the biggest of egos.

Yeah, I loved the part where she mentioned doing an ultramarathon as if it's something everyone does as part of their training regimen. Sheer badass.

Of course, when I said that I was talking about more then milk.
I met her in Lander a couple years ago when she was doing a slide show. Super mellow and cool. Her and Dean get the bad-ass couple award for sure.

Yup, I met her out at Indian Creek and thought the same too. I've been fortunate to have met and climbed with many big name famous climbers and climbed with several of them. Many I would still consider to be good friends like Obe and Nate. Even though I'm just an average climber they were always super cool and kind. Ah the memories...

Steph was in school at Fort Collins when I moved out there in 1994. She taught a womens climbing clinic one day a week for awhile, in one of the gyms.
We got to boulder (add on) in the gym every once in a while, plus we were working on a few routes kinda together at rifle. The coolest vibes I got from her back then happened one friday........I was not climbing but stopped into the gym to see if any body knew where they were climbing over the weekend. There was no one in the gym except her, the lights were down real low.....She had Rage Against the Machine #1 playing with the volume fairly high. I watched her doing a endurance/traverse session for about a song before she noticed I was watching. She was in the zone.
Definetly, one bad ass climber! And super nice.

She is awesome and super nice, met her at the outdoor show last year and she really left a nice impression, her husband as well. Think of their future children....
