So it looks like Jill and I will be heading to Italy next June as the result of some sorta wedding thingy. Now we aren't the types to buy into that whole laid back relaxed honeymoon thing, so we looking to do a little hiking and climbing in the Dolomites.
Anyone ever been climbing there?
Know of any good guidebooks or websites?
Where is our little world traveler Mr. Merrick, maybe he's been there?
Some prelim web searches have turned up a few sites with some route info (nothing as swank as that online guide at redriverclimbing.com) and there are some hardcopy guides out there. just trying to find some info out there to plan a trip around. And it looks like we're going to splurge and leave the nylon motel on this side of the pond, so any mountain hut/rustic cabin accomodation beta would be appreciated too.

I'm so jealous. That will be an awesome trip.

Joseph-Beth in Lexington has some good books with great hiking routes through the Dolomites.

ya'll are going to have a blast. I went there over the summer, its amazing. Definitly look into doing some Via Ferrata, its alot of fun. It's really beautiful there, and the food and wine is great too!

If you like reading about climbing, I'd recommend Gervasutti's Climbs. I think that most of his climbing was in the Dolomites.
