What a great group of people and a great place to climb. Damn I'm really liking this bouldering stuff.

Awesome, Ryan! Sounds like you've been seeing some great places and doing some great climbing. Rocktown is definitely sweet as hell. I can't wait to get back there this winter!

After a Friday afternoon at LRC and two full days at Rocktown, I hurt. It is a good kinda hurt though. Lots of cool new sends for every one, and even got to spot Shawn K. on a new problem. Running into him was one of the coolest parts of the weekend.

We even were able to be there for MeetVA first bouldering trip, and by the end, she was thinking of ways to coax Terry out of his bouldering pad.

The very best thing about three day roadtips where you get back late Sunday night, is being able to sleep in Monday morning. 8)

I will try to get some pics up sometime today.

Speaking of bouldering....

I got Jared a subscription to Urban Climbing magazine and by signing up, he got a free shirt and DVD. The DVD is "Dreams of Bleau", bouldering that sort of featured a 60-yr old resident who still cranks hard. Pretty amazing stuff. You should see this guy on the slackline! The video was short but was still very entertaining. Leaves you wanting to get on the next flight to France.

Back to the thread.... Rocktown kicks ass, I too can't wait to get there during winter break!

.....and by cool, I mean totally sweet!

Great weekend for sure, everyone was crushing and projects were falling left and right. Rhino's a believer, Va's pretty close, and Skychick's totally in. This rockclimbing stuff is about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on.

Shouldn't have left yesterday. :(

that's great to hear guys! congrats on an awesome weekend and props on finding a dry spot. i know that was kind of the crux of the weekend for you guys. speaking of crash pads, i'll remind everyone that there's one for $80 on sierratradingpost.com. it's a climb axe but i have one and it's worked out just fine; seems to be pretty much the same as a metolious.

hell yeah artsay, this winter is going to be where it's at! t-wall and southern bouldering and the best of people ;)
and great loves will one day have to part -smashing pumpkins

What a kick-butt weekend! You guys rock my free-world!

charlie: Thanks for getting me there; for letting me break your camera; for the wonderful spotting; & for cooking a fabulous dinner that seals your fate as a lesbian
meetVA: Thanks for that word or two of cheer, to keep me from flaking out; & for the beautiful topouts (we can only hope there will be pictures forthcoming, from Wes)
Wes: Thanks for your crashpads, spots, beta; & your post-tequilla dance (I'll bring more, next time)
rhino: Thanks for being the tuff-gurl that you are! & for bringing out the tuff-gurl in all of us!
Jaimen: dab

Very cool climbing area!! Had a great time even though I felt like a fish out of water at times. Hopefully with more time and practice I will get the hang of this bouldering thing. Thanks for all the fun guys!
