Numb Fingers

About three weeks ago I pulled my neck. Since then my left thumb, index finger and middle finger have been tingling and semi-numb.

If I tilt my neck back at a certain angle I feel a shock go down my arm like I hit my funny bone or something.

Has anyone ever experienced this before?

I'm not a doctor, but this sounds like cervical radiculopathy. People involved in car accident lawsuits for neck and back injuries have these symptoms quite often.

I was soloing Denali a couple of years ago and around 19,000' I kept getting the shock down my arm like you were saying SCIN and it would freak me out because I was alone but it would feel like someone kept hitting me in the funny bone. Turned out I was moving too fast and hyperventalating. Not the same thing I know, but still a weird feeling for sure

Busty, thanks for the info. I checked it out on the internet and sure enough that sounds exactly like what I have. I imagine, aside from physical therapy and rest, that there really is no way to cure it. I'd rather have numb fingers the rest of my life than get surgery. It's kind of cool because painful finger locks aren't really that painful anymore. Maybe my right fingers will go numb too!

Ibuprofen to reduce inflammation and stop stretching/cracking your neck (if you do it). From where you're tingling, it sounds like a median nerve injury (it originates in your neck) which not only innervates the tips of your fingers, but also some of the flexor muscles in your forearm as well as the muscles in the base of your thumb and in your palm. They may also have reduced function but it might not be enough to notice. If it doesn't clear up on it's own you might want to get it checked out. Good luck and even though you'll never do it, take it easy for a while.

I personally don't know if anyone has ever sent it, but I don't know much. I've been working it for too long now and am damn close. I can do all the moves on TR (not clean) but leading that mother is another story. It's micro-penis sized
