RRG Weekend Closures

I had been planning on taking my kids to the Living Archeology Weekend at Gladie, guess not. Still plan on coming down to the Gathering.

Closures Due to Flooding - Weekend of Sept. 17-19

The Daniel Boone National Forest is experiencing flooding and downed trees from Hurricane Ivan. The following events and recreation areas listed below are cancelled/closed until further notice.

When making plans to visit the forest, we urge you to check before you go by calling the district office of the area you will be visiting.

Please use extra caution when travelling through the forest this weekend. Don't cross roads that are under water. The current in creeks and rivers may also be much swifter and deeper than usual.

Living Archaeology Weekend scheduled for September 17 and 18 has been cancelled.
KY 77 between KY 11/15 and Nada Tunnel leading into the Red River Gorge is closed due to a washout.

Sounds like it would affect everything from Frenchburg to the tunnel, leaving the other side of the loop from Pine to the 77 split open?

You can't get to, or go through the tunnel. That's what it sounds like. I was in Menifee County yesterday so I didn't see it. I'd say it'll be temporary and that by next weekend you'll be able to get back to Fortress, Military and Left Flank the short way.

Yeah, it was a temporary closure
