I Finally Did It!
That's it! My body has had it with this climbing sh#*. I think I partially ruptured the tendon sheath in my left middle finger yesterday, not to mention my left rotator cuff hurts like a bitch.
And so starts my long break from climbing. How long? I'm not quite sure. I have to convince myself to go see a doctor to hear the horrible news.
I think I'll take up swimming for a little bit...anyone else have any ideas on how to spend my time while I'm not climbing?

Leslie, have I met you? I think I met a Leslie at Torrent one day by the .11's, and then again at Miguel's a few times after that...
Either way, if your shoulder can take it, do yoga-- it's awesome, and gives you the same sense of tangible progress as climbing. However, the poses can be pretty upper-body intensive. If you're looking to maintain core strength and avoid strain on your upper body, go for pilates (I don't really dig it too much, but a lot of people do). Other than that, I'd say just do a bunch of cardio to stay in shape... I like the elliptical machines because it can still be a pretty strenuous workout, and you can read at the same time.
