If you are that far north, have you checked out the climbing closer to you? I think Devil's Lake (Wisconsin) should be about a 3 hour drive for you if you are so close to Chi-town. It is pumpy I hear and the season's short but some of the photos I saw were beautiful.

Devil's Lake wisconsin will NOT be a 3 hour drive for this person.
With the horrific traffic around the southside of Lake Michigan, oddball is much better off with a drive down here to the red.
There are a bunch of people who climb at Vertical Endeavors, west of Chicago, and climb at the Red regularly. Maybe drop in there or something. You could also try to contact the Chicago Mounainerring Club (yea. . .) about this stuff.

wow, my bad. mapquesting the trek put it at 4h 13m but then mq doesn't account for traffic. and the same mq put a trip to slade at 6h 32m.
looking at the map, i don't think i had internalized the tripod of oh-ky-in. we are all one nice checkerboard of sorts.

If you cant find people there to climb with, just head to the red by your self, im sure anyone of us would be glad to climb with you. So where are you originally from? and why the move to " pretty much no where" ?

The putz decided that he wanted to be a lawyer so he moved to the one of the worst locations on the map.

There is a small climbing gym near there at Hobart. I think it is part of The Omega Sports complex.
