I found a site that does really precise conversions, so for all of you who are wondering...

50 meters = 164.0419948 feet
60 meters = 196.8503937 feet
70 meters = 229.6587927 feet

Or 2.54 cm = 1 inch, so 100 cm in inches is (100/2.54) = 39.37 inches or 3.281 feet. So, for instance, 60 m is (60 * 3.281) = 196.86 feet. Pretty close! (Also, a new rope that is listed as "60 m" should be a little longer than that, because as ropes take falls, they get a little shorter.)

Now for celsius to fahrenheit conversion you take the temperature in fahrenheit, subtract 32, multiply by....

It's a bit of an issue for me. As an architect, my life would be much, mich more simple if we used metric here in the US. (Not to mention the fact that it would save us all a lot of money by eliminating a lot of mistakes that come from the "base 10 feet - base 12 inches - base 2 fractions" hassle. Grrrr!!!)

I've always said, thru all the effort to teach kids in school the metric system, the only one's in the US that get it, are the drug dealers.
