Climbing Wall

So, I'm ready to build my climbing wall in my garage.
Anyone know where I can get plans? Do I need plans?
My son-in-law-to-be can build things, so I have cheap labor. Any advise would be appreciated.

And their a few books you can buy. One in the "how to climb" series but it looked dated. Search amazon for the rest since I can't remember them off the top of my head.

No problem. Remember: When in doubt ask a librarian(in training)!

Plenty of resource references on the internet. This was the top hit:

Is it a one or two car garage? If your SILTB is a good carpenter I have advise for making your wall more interesting.

Wow! I knew I could count on you climber guys!
My garage is two-car, but I keep the boat/trailer in one half.
My SILTB is an electrician, but he has built things with his grandfather all his life. I also have a good friend who will help.
I don't need a very big area. I'm thinking 8' vertical in front of the door into the house, over the door, into the corner for some toe-in crack opportunities, and 8' overhanging on the other side of the door. I am also hanging a ballet barre and plan to utilize the garage for fun and fitness this winter. I be so 'cited.
All advise welcome.

Thanks, Sweetie. I PM'd him a few minutes ago. Wilbur says, "Hi!"
After I went out to get the mail, I checked out my wall and I believe the 8' should be changed to 4'. I'm talking width. I'm so right brained!

I posted a pic of my homewall on here. It's under "other climbing - KD"S homewall" It took me most of a summer to build the main part, then I added sections onto it later. The pic shows the interior sections. It was the first thing I ever built but it wasn't that hard to do. I had plenty of good advice and used the book "building a homewall" it's one of the "how to rockclimb" books. It ain't cheap to do. I probably have $3500. or so in it (including holds) but I'm glad I built it. It has been the source of more than one domestic discussion though.
