My job sucks and my boss is a dumbass. He gives me three times the time I need for every project. I spend most of my time playing on the internet (Thank you RedRiverClimbing.com).

Here is the problem. I work in automotive engineering for a big 3 (2?) contract house and right now the market sux ass. I've looked and can't find anything without a huge loss in pay. My resume is going to look like I spent 3 years doing nothing.

And to top it off, GM is now sending engineering work overseas where they work for $5 an hour for the same thing I do.

Thanks for the vent space. I take all flaming in stride...

Ok, I'll bite.
You are complaining about getting paid very well for the past three years doing next to nothing, and surfing the net.
Sounds like you have a lot of time on your hands to pad your resume to make it sound like you actualy do do something.

I'd like to complain that I can't sfford a new truck made by one of the top 3 (2) car companies because they want too much money for them.

I did not want to say anything, but I'll jump on the wagon. It seems to me if you finished projects early, your boss may give you more. As you complete tasks, he'll realize that you can handle projects that will pad your resume like a king-size mattress. Then one day you can be his boss, because you get the job done better than him. Since he is a dumbass; it probably won't be that hard.

Instead, you are floating along and will have same job in 15 years because you've made no effort.

Perhaps the reason your resume looks terrible is because you are unmotivated? In that case, where's the problem, the resume is telling the truth.

If you do not want to be motivated, than do not complain.

The people who acually build the cars should be getting your pay (and prolly 40 other useless peoples pay) Like Jeff said, we can't afford a new truck .wonder why?

I once had a job where I had absolutely nothing to do and knew I would be leaving the company so I took advantage of the time to learn new things before I left. I left the company and got a job doing exactly what I taught myself with that spare time.

Take advantage of spare time and teach yourself some things. Otherwise you have nothing to be competitive about.

No one should be paid to surf the internet that many hours a week.

People that build cars make twice what I make. They have a union.

He works directly for GM. I'm a contract worker. (no promotion oppertunities)
