Let's secure some land...

Post by vic »

Changes need to be made BEFORE we loose land.

Recap:
The coalition was NOT funded by Shannon, but co-funded by her.
She is NOT a lawyer, and never was one.
The RRGCC was small, see tiny... before they bought some land.
They obviously suck at land management, public relations, and employee / volunteer management.
The RRGCC lies to the public, hides information, and uses people’s money for the funding of what could be considered an inappropriate legal battle.

To lawyers out there:
Please enlighten me a little...As concerned donors of money and time, can the public demand a new President of the RRGCC as well as a new executive director of the RRGCC?
Can the public step in and demand to take control of the organization instead of having a single individual person make ALL the final decisions?
If not the public, can the people who have donated demand such a change?

We are running out of time here… this is a very serious inquiry.

I am really tired of seeing key people in the climbing community get mistreated, used, abused, used some more, walk out and resign, get fired etc… It is no longer the people who are the problem – look at the stats. Instead, it is much more obvious that one person is in charge of it all, one person provides the last “I will decide what is best for climbers…”

Are we really stuck with that one person and aren’t we able to have a voice?
The RRGCC is: The Red River Gorge Climbers’ Coalition. In my language, that translates into: The Coalition FOR Climbers. Is everyone seeing what I am seeing here? We are supposed to have a voice – we do not.

Too often I hear: “I represent CLIMBERS at the red river gorge…”
Too often I think: “That’s a bunch of crap”.

What say you?
! Enough with all that detestation ALREADY !
Smile & be thankful for what you have.

C'mon guys, Vic might be venting a lot here lately but let's all give him a break. So what if he was fired (or something), his points are still valid.

Plenty of times we say, "Gretchen/Shannon needs to step down." And plenty of times people like Johnny say, "Who should take their place?"

I don't think anybody will be taking their place unless that person knows exactly what they are getting into. So can we get Gretchen or Shannon to state exactly/specifically what they do for the coalition? Not what they DID but what they do. Maybe if the public has an idea of what it takes to be BOD president or ED, then we can find a suitable replacement or a willing volunteer. Or maybe we can even totally eliminate both positions! Let's examine the need for a BOD President and an ED. Do we really even need any?

This is not the place to air your malice toward the CC. You should go back and erase your post. The things that you say can only hurt the CC and climbers you are not helping anyone but yourself.
I was faced with a situation that he could've "vented" in public and hurt the CC's efforts. I didn't though, because it wouldn't have helped anyone. You need to erase your post. You are making acrimonious statements to try and bring the CC down. You need to erase your post.
I really don't want to be in a position to defend the CC. They do a good enough job at hanging themselves. But what is definitely not needed is statements by former employees, full of rancor, trying to advance their own agenda. It is obvious to all that you have designs on the CC. That you would like to appiont yourself as president or to attempt some sort of coup d' etat . It is obvious to all what you are attempting. You should erase your post.
We have attempted to start another users group. We have been met with some degree of success. but the one thing we are not doing is trying to destroy the CC. there have been no statements issued by the SBC that could be considered derrogatory. YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR POST!!!

Ray I know that there has been problems lately with the CC. I don't think that statements like this by people like Vic are the way to go. Could you please moderate this if Vic refuses to change his venomous statement.
Thank you

Joe

This web site is not the "official" web site of the RRGCC therefore any statements directed towards them on this site can't be taken seriously. I say leave the post the way it is.

As an admin of this forum, I base moderation decisions solely on the rules we have established. Period*. There is absolutely no reason for us to moderate his post.

*Freaky Friday word filters are the exception, of course.

I can just see the future....Vic up on the stand testifying for Charlie oil.....

I'm not saying that the CC is without its problems. The way that I view them now is as a climbing "club". If they accomplish anything at all that makes climbing better in the Red then more power to them. They are not a true "users group" but a "club" of users. There are other alternatives now. KRRED. for example.
